A little sloth, one of my favorite creatures ever.

After a pretty crappy, sweltering, unproductive day I wound up having a really good art night, finally! I’ve been a little frustrated lately trying to mix the sort of art I’m used to doing for others with art I want to do for myself. The two things seem so opposed sometimes that I’ve found myself balling up an awful lot of paper lately, which just sucks.

But after a trip to the art supply store for some new markers and such I came home and worked happily for a good long time. Giggling while drawing is always a good sign. huzzah.

I’m totally preoccupied with model makers - you know, the awesome wizards who make the collectible figures we save up to buy. And I’m obsessed with all things tiny, especially when I’m trying to make them myself. Sooo I decided to get some Willow wax (a wax and clay medium similar to Casteline) and do a 1/6th scale head of Mila Jovovich (who I chose because there are just so many pictures of her out there… and well, she’s lovely).

Here she is so far. She looks a little weird all hairless and gray - but if you *squint* maybe it looks like her a little?

I decided to play around with my watercolor pencils again. I tried them before because they promised to combine the two things I love: watercolors and pencils. Hmmm, didn’t really knock my socks off the first go round. But I think I’m having better luck today.
