This looks like it could be pretty awesome.

People seem concerned it’s going to wind up being Single White Female featuring Natalie Portman on acid or something. But I’ll be pretty satisfied if it turns out to be psychological, or unclear. Ambiguity isn’t always bad*, I mean the The Haunting of Julia with Mia Farrow was pretty damn creepy. And Aronofsky’s work has always had a dark 60s and 70s existentialist vibe to me so I won’t be surprised (or disappointed) if it plays out like Repulsion.

Besides, what’s more scary: turning into a swan or going completely apeshit and thinking you are?

*but sometimes it doesn’t go well at all.

Looks like a very beautiful and altogether depressing film. But all I was thinking about while watching this was how much I wish I could live in Japan for a while.

I just watched a rerun of Tales from the Darkside: Distant Signals starring Lenny von Dohlen, who I thought was just dreamy, in an fey 80′s sweater vest kind of way.

It reminded me that I want to buy Electric Dreams on dvd. Gah, I love that movie. Its got a fantastic soundtrack (Moroder, Phil Oakley, Boy George, ELO), Virginia Madsen (Irulan), Bud Cort (from Harold & Maude) as Edgar the computer and Lenny, the disheveled spectacled hottie.

And I loved him as Harold in Twin Peaks too. Der.
